Foodies rejoice - the Cork Gourmet Trail is back for another year and is set to be bigger and better than ever.
The event is run as part of the Murphy’s Cork Oyster and Seafood Festival with the theme of this year’s trail being maritime with prizes for ‘most seafaring hat’ to be won at the end of the day.
Cork's most renowned restaurants are taking part in the day-long event this autumn.
Set to take place on September 19, the Cork Gourmet Trail begins with a drinks reception at the Metropole Hotel on MacCurtain Street in the city centre.
From there, a culinary tour of Cork begins, hitting The Met, Cask, Dwyers of Cork, Greenes, The Oyster Tavern, Electric, Soho, Tequila Jacks, The New Yorker Bar & Bistro, Olivo at the Cork Airport Hotel, the Cornstore, Gallaghers, the Bodega and Arthur Maynes.
The tour which is set to finish up at around 5.30 pm will be followed by an afterparty at the Metropole with a live DJ.
Tickets for the Cork Gourmet Trail will go on sale in July.
Throughout the Cork Oyster & Seafood Festival weekend, which runs from September 18 to 20, The Lazy Chef, Simon Lamont will be on hand for people to take a stab at.
